I think my pet rat Mycoplasma he was more docile, and had difficulty breathing dry. All the information that I found said that the need for antibiotics, which I must be prescribed by a veterinarian, but there are other treatments that I can try? I am more than willing to take him to the vet if this is the only option, but I just wanted to see if anyone has other suggestions.

Hello!
All home care for mycoplasma are set so if you have Mycoplasma, and will succumb to an infection with a high speed, and an unhappy (and faster to develop) complication is pneumonia, Ratti, j 'is deadly I'm afraid your only opportunity to cure is the whip on the forehead to the vets care. :]
A quick note, all infections of the respiratory tract caused by a bacterium called Mycoplasma. Mycoplasma is present in all Rattie and occurs when the rat is stressed, or generally under the weather. Here, your airway could not be unconditional and Full Blown Myco. Mico is very serious and must be immediately treated and tights are presented symptoms of shortness of breath, and then a little tame.
Without treatment, cause of respiratory infections to scarring of the lungs, the more expensive to treat and manage a veterinary examination and a prescription of antibiotics. :) Believe me, a quick, early diagnosis is always better than the risk of serious infections.
Your veterinarian probably prPlease enter your name antibiotic Baytril - the usual dose is 0.2 ml, twice daily for two weeks. Your veterinarian may prescribe an injection of steroids - it reduces the inflammation in the chest and Ratty makes the drug works much more effectively. Personally, I would treat all diseases of the respiratory tract with a mixture of steroids and Baytril. You are a wonderful combination!
By the way, you mention a single rat - you have two rats? If not, then this could succumb to his pathetic a respiratory problem to explain - is what brought a cause of stress Ratty deals, and her little body can cause enormous stress, leading to depression, neurosis, and often fatal.
Good luck and love of the Rat!
Although it may be expensive, easier to see was a veterinarian. But make sure that your vet experienced with rats. Try to recommendations from others to get the rats. Among the rat to a vet with no experience is necessary.
If you can not find an authorized veterinarian, one thing you could try. Tetracycline is very easily available in pet shops in the fish section. This is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, effective against the monkey. Here you can look information on dosage: http://www.rmca.org/Articles/dchart.htm is below.
almost all of my rats have suffered from this at one point on the other, and I had to get prescription drugs that each veterinarian. I wish there were an easier way, but unfortunately there are none that I know of. There is really no cure for mycoplasma, medicines only treat the outbreak and prevent it getting worse ... but could also be a respiratory infection that develop into something dangerous, such as pneumonia, can quickly .. so we recommend arriving at the vet as soon as possible.
One thing you can do is it a liquid supplement echinacea (you can get at GNC and other) ... does not eliminate the infection, but it can help strengthen the immune system, while the rats can take other medicines or until I get to the vet.
Good luck
